My Adjustment Went Great

I finally had my spinal cord stimulator readjusted for the first time in two and a half years—and so much was accomplished and revealed during this visit.

For anyone with one of these devices, you know it’s a learning curve every step of the way. It’s a bit like learning to play a new instrument—there’s a lot of trial and error involved.

The burst technology being used today has only been around for about nine years. Since I had my stimulator implanted back in 2017, I guess you could say I’ve been something of a “guinea pig” patient from the beginning.

First, here’s a big praise report: many implanted batteries only last a couple of years. However, the battery I had implanted in February 2018 is still going strong at 94%—almost like new. A brand-new battery reads at 3.0, and mine is still at 2.8. The technician told me this is the best condition he’s ever seen for an eight-year-old battery.

Next, I can finally control my stimulator with my iPhone! Praise God—the new app they created is compatible with my battery. Now I can simply use my phone to manage everything.

Third, my stimulator has been adjusted to provide much broader coverage. Over time, I expect even greater relief in my lower back and legs—and I’m already noticing improvement in my legs.

I now have several new program options right at my fingertips. I’m so thankful that God always makes a way. My nerve pain has been consistently under control, and I’m grateful.

Praying for each of you!
