The week has been tough and the days have been long. Today, I’ve spent most of my time in the bed and the rest of my day in the tub. The bad news is my discomfort is steady. The great news is I’ve shed no tears all day. Knock on wood, the dam of insane nerve pain appears closed at the moment.
Yes, there is a lot pertaining to my health that is totally unpredictable. However, there is no denying that anything stressful can hike things in a matter of seconds. Time has also shown that if I am to ever improve anymore it will be through daily walking and rest. It’s been so long since I’ve had any sustained recovery momentum. Every surgery and procedure has stop my momentum totally on several occasions.
With that said I’ve still not given up hope. I just need need to take things day by day, step by step. I must remove any unnecessary hindrances from my life. My body is still healing from this recent battery that was implanted 3 months ago. According to my surgeon due to it’s size and placement it could take up to six months to fully settle into my body. Not to mention that nerves grow back and heal at a snails pace. I’m constantly praying that my body continues to heal and that my mind stays focused. I know that begins and continues by keeping my eyes on Jesus.
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.
(Hebrews 12:1-3)
