A New Year’s Perspective
As the clock got closer to midnight on New Year’s Eve I was reading my Bible. Sitting right beside me in bed was my youngest son Asher. I really didn’t think he was paying any attention as he was playing with some toy. Next thing I know my 7 year old says, “Look daddy I’m reading my own Bible.” He was looking intently into his little New Testament.
Now, I don’t have all the answers, but I do know this for sure. The will of God will never contradict the word of God. And you can’t know the will of God without reading the word of God. Wise quotes and positive vibes are great. But, absolute truth is found from Genesis to Revelation.
I encourage you to open your Bible so that God can speak directly to your heart. Know that every word is God’s love letter to you. God’s word alone can give you the direction your heart needs to deal with anything and everything you will ever face in this life and in the life to come. And, remember this parents your kids will learn more from what they see you do than what they hear you say.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
